<\/p>\n
The balance system is a coordinated effort between the vestibular, visual and the somatosensory systems. The vestibular system is the balance portion of the inner ear and tells the brain where the head is in space. The visual system is the eyes and the somatosensory system is the body and sense of touch. The visual and somatosensory systems give the brain information about the movement and stability of the world around us. Our central nervous system processes this information. The appropriate coordination of all these systems provides us with normal equilibrium. If the central nervous system receives conflicting information from these systems, the result is dizziness or balance problems. <\/p>\n
